Lady & Hooch is an app for dog owners, breeders and dog businesses in the UK. Find dogs and walks nearby, join a playdate, check the path for hazards before you set off, and book the groomer while you’re at it.

Set your area once: around you, around a place you pick, or the whole country. Dogs, walks, events, incidents and services all follow it. The map is an illustration, and the location that sets your area stays on your device.

Before the leads come off
Every dog on Lady & Hooch has a profile: breed, age, energy, temperament, and who they get on with, from puppies and children to cats and other dogs.
Owners can add a note about reactivity, so a nervous dog gets met the right way.
You can browse them all without an account. A dog’s place on the map is rounded to about a kilometre, so a profile never leads to a front door. Sign in to say hello: messages and notifications arrive together in your Inbox.
Walks with company, if you want it
Planned walks
Plan a walk with a start, a route and a finish, as a loop, one way or there and back, for now or any day in the next fortnight. Members nearby can message you to join. An hour after it ends, the walk is deleted.
Playdates and events
Host a playdate or an event and say who’s welcome: particular breeds, a level of energy, whether reactive dogs or dogs that aren’t neutered can come. You approve each request, and approved guests get a group chat to sort out the details.
Planning a walk is for people aged 16 and over, after a one-off ID check. Everyone can host 2 events or walks a month for free, and Plus makes it unlimited.
There is no live location in Lady & Hooch. Nothing follows you on a walk, and nobody sees where you are unless you send them a place in a message.
Somebody saw it first
Members pin hazards to the map, with a short description and up to 4 photos.
Everyone can see them for 30 days, signed in or not, and nobody sees who reported them.

Incidents aren’t for emergencies. In an emergency call 999, and to report a crime call 101.
Book the groomer without ringing round
Find groomers, trainers, behaviourists, walkers, sitters, daycare, vets, physios, photographers and breeders in your area.
Pick an open slot from their opening hours, add your dogs and pay in the app.

Puppies, the proper way
Only breeders whose licence our team has checked can list puppies.
You reserve and pay in the app, collect the puppy where it was bred and see it with its mother. We hold the money until the handover, and you can cancel for a full refund any time before then.
That’s Lucy’s Law: the breeder sells the puppy, and we only hold the payment.
Reserving or asking about a puppy is for people aged 16 and over, after a one-off ID check.
Rehoming
Owners can list their own dog for a new home. Any fee, up to £200, is paid between you, not through the app, so meet the dog before you pay anything. Listing a dog is for people aged 18 and over, after an ID check.
The first week
Starter kits, toys and accessories from the shop in the app, delivered in the UK, with free delivery from £40. Track an order or start a return in the app, within 14 days of delivery.
Free to use. Plus is for people who host a lot
Plus is an App Store subscription. It changes one thing: how many events and planned walks you can host.

The free count resets on the 1st of each month. Plus is billed to your Apple ID and cancelled in Settings on your iPhone or iPad. Bookings, puppy reservations and the shop are paid for in the app when you use them.
Rules of the park
- 13 and over
- Anyone aged 13 or over can join, browse, message, join events, book and buy.
- 16 and over, with an ID check
- Planning walks, asking about or reserving a dog, and sending your location in a message.
- 18 and over, with an ID check
- Offering services, and listing a dog as a breeder or for rehoming.
- ID checks
- A person on our team looks at each one within 24 hours. There’s no facial recognition, and we delete the photos once we’ve decided.
- Report and block
- Report or block from a profile, a chat, a walk, an event, a business or a review. We aim to review reports within 24 hours, child safety and threats first.
- Where you are
- There’s no live location sharing. The location that sets your area stays on your device, and a planned walk is deleted an hour after it ends.

Owners nearby pick an open slot and pay in the app, you accept or decline each request, and you’re paid through Stripe, less our 15% fee. Reviews only come from completed bookings, so they’re from people you actually saw.

Named after two dogs
Lady is named after a Cavalier King Charles. Hooch is named after the best dog ever, the Dogue de Bordeaux in Turner & Hooch.
One fits on a lap and one very much doesn’t, which is roughly the range of dogs this app has to work for.
